With the webbing pre-fitted and spreader poles/elastic included to raise the net, the Frontline's ease of setup makes it a great all-round system suitable for users with any level of hammock camping experience. Pair it with a DD Underblanket to camp in comfort during the colder months, or take it on a tropical expedition - its netting and breathable material make it an ideal jungle hammock.
Sleep 100% bug-free with the Frontline Hammock's insect net zipped up, or simply unzip both sides and roll up to secure out of the way. Alternatively, suspend the hammock with the net on the bottom to lounge out in the sun!
DD 3x3 Tarp
Our recommended shelter for hammock campers of all experience levels, the DD Tarp 3x3 offers reliable protection wherever you go. Its 19 reinforced attachment points offer a huge number of setup options, and it's the tarp of choice for bushcraft & survival schools, the military and countless wild campers worldwide!
With the perfect dimensions for our regular sized hammocks, the Tarp 3x3 is what we recommend as ample cover for a single person plus gear. Arrange it in an A-frame or diamond over your hammock for all-round protection, or simply use it to extend a porch on your tent. Cook underneath it. Use it as a ground sheet. Craft it into a tipi-tent.
This tarp can be seen used by Chris Ryan (ex British SAS) in very extreme monsoon conditions in the Amazon rainforest on 'Alone in the Wild', aired on Discovery Channel on 02.11.11.
Hammock Suspension System
If you ever wanted a simple way to adjust the height of your hammock while suspended, this is for you. Our Complete Whoopie Suspension System makes a quick and easy job of setting up any DD hammock.
No need for knots!
Using our Whoopie Suspension System means that you can alter the hang of your hammock in seconds, without unwrapping any webbing from the tree. The bark-friendly Tree Huggers grip the tree and allow you to clip your whoopie slings to its loops. A fantastic modification for anyone looking to reduce the pack weight of their hammock.
Suitable for use in temperatures down to -5C, the DD Underblanket works to prevent heat loss from beneath you. Hang it under your hammock, and feel the warmth generated in minutes for a cosy night's sleep! In our opinion, this is the best hammock insulation for a cold night in the wilds!
How does it work?
In hammock camping, the majority of heat loss is from below due to your body weight compressing your clothing or the loft in your sleeping bag. The DD Hammock Underblanket combats this by hanging below your hammock so the loft is not compressed, creating a pocket of air warmed by your body heat. It should be hung with a little slack to gently 'hug' the hammock when you're inside, to achieve the warmest insulation. Our DD Underblanket is 2m long, so will provide near full-length insulation for most people. We recommend setting it up with a little bias towards your head.
